Forward to
Stardust
A word of warning, this story does not fit neatly into any specific
prefabricated fanfiction category. I hate being pigeon-holed *g*.
First of all, it’s not exactly a crossover. It’s more of an NCIS story with a
visitor from Stargate SG1. Just a hint, it’s not Jack, Sam, or Teal’c
although they do make brief appearances. This might sound like a better deal for
the NCIS fans, except I rely heavily on the back story of Daniel’s ascension and
subsequent return… just not overtly. Confused yet? That’s okay, because Daniel
isn’t even Daniel for most of the fic.
And then there’s the slash aspect. If you’re in it for the
sex, you’re barking up the wrong tree. This is more of a character study,
maybe even a voyage of 'discovery' (wink). On the other hand,
true-blue genners are gonna say ‘Hey! My character would never
say-do-think that’.
The idea for this fic came out of the desire to explore Kate’s question to
Tony in Dead Man Talking after he inadvertently made out with a he/she; ‘So what
was it like to tongue a guy?’ (I mean really, doesn’t she know?) As for Daniel’s involvement in this whole
sordid affair, I couldn’t think of a more talented tongue, so for me, it was a
no-brainer.
I have kept exposition of the characters to a minimum. Other than the fact that I couldn’t make myself do the requisite
‘Leroy Jethro Gibbs, ex-marine and now leader of the crack Naval Criminal
Investigative… yadda… yadda… yadda…’, I tried to write the story in such a way
that it didn’t matter. So from whichever fandom you’re coming I optimistically,
humbly, foolishly hope you won’t need those introductions to understand what’s
going on. That was my goal anyway.
So who might actually like this story? Well, if there are any bi-fictional
readers out there who adore NCIS and SG1, Tony and Daniel in
particular, we may be on to something.
Spoilers:
NCIS – Dead Man Talking, Left for Dead, takes place at the end of season one
Stargate – Maternal Instincts, Full Circle, Fallen, takes place after
Evolution but before Lost City
If you've stuck with me this far, on with the story.
